The Intention

The PEAK Trainings site provides information on mindfulness-based programs, training, and classes with MBSR instructor Frank Olivieri.  With a focus on using one’s inner resources and development of a personal practice, he provides effective techniques that can be implemented into daily life for balance and peace of mind.  Classes aim to facilitate connection and conversation in a space that is welcoming and encouraging for all. By authentically arriving and allowing for personal insight and self-connection to take place, one can fully experience the benefits of mindful awareness in daily life.  If your personal intention is to heal, calm your mind, recenter your heart, find balance in your life, reconnect with yourself, respond vs. react, change patterns / habits, develop deeper self-compassion and more, then we hope to be a part of your journey. 

What is Mindfulness?

"Mindfulness is awareness that arises through paying attention, on purpose, in the present moment, non-judgmentally."     - Jon Kabat-Zinn (Founder of MBSR) 

Mindfulness is the present-moment awareness of our thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations, carried out with nonjudgement, gentleness, curiosity, and acceptance.  It is a means to getting to know ourselves intimately through techniques that enhance self-awareness, attention control, and emotional regulation.  Once mastered, these three self-regulation skills can be applied to all areas of life, especially those that influence well-being.  We're better able to allow ourselves to be open to the subtle messages that the body, mind, heart, and spirit are sending us.  (Loucks, 2022)
